SENSEI
ALDO AKLI
Sensei Aldo Akli was born in Algeria on
July 2nd 1966. In his youth, Sensei Aldo studied
Shaolin Kung Fu before getting interested into Kyokushin
karate, which, by his standard, is the most complete
martial art.
He immigrated
to Canada in 1988 and started immediately to study
Kyokushin Karate under the supervision of Camille
Ohan (godan) and earn his Black belt in the spring
of 1995. He immediately devoted numerous hours
to train students and opened his own dojo in Laval
(north of Montreal) in 1998.
Mr. Akli earned his nidan in 1999
still under the direction of Camille Ohan and
proceeded to open a new dojo in Montreal (Rivière-des-Prairies)
as well as 3 school- integrated dojos.
In 2003, after having recovered
fully from a serious illness, which led to a reduction
of his activities in karate, Sensei Aldo passed
his sandan degree.
He is also a sandan in Kobudo
which degree he passed under the supervision of
Shihan Oshiro of Okinawa.
Sensei Aldo holds regularly seminars
on self-defense. These seminars were also useful
for police force and security agents.
He participated in many international
competitions and later acted as a referee for
full-contact and semi-contact fights.
His last competition as a fighter
was entitled “One Match” under the
direction of Shihan Andre Gilbert in 2004.
Sensei Aldo is very preoccupied
with whole body and spirit fitness. He is giving
courses of “Boxing Tae Boe” and Tai
Chi to people desirous to achieve new goals. He
is also a recognized fitness instructor.
Throughout his study of martial
arts, Sensei Aldo is always seeking for perfection
and pursues the goal of elevating his students
to their own highest level.
